About Iranian House of Music NSW

IHOM-NSW is a not-for-profit organisation that aims to create a cultural interface between people of Iranian backgrounds and the wider Australian community while establishing a robust social foundation for Iranian music scholars and artists.

Board of Directors

Current board of Directors are Dr Mojtaba Tajziehchi, Dr Shizar Nahidi, Mrs Elham Varshochi, Mr Mohammad Hashemi and Mr Reza Mostajabi

Professional Council of Music

The Current Professional Council of Music members are Mr Davood Ardalan Tabrizi, Mr Siamak Farrukhsereshti and Ms Pegah Varamini 


Iranian House of Music is in the process of forming Volunteer commitees which consist of Event Management, Branding and Marketing, Quality Control, Orchestra, and Grants committee

Our Vision


The IHOM- NSW’s vision is to create a collaborative and creative space to promote Iranian music with the aim of developing a harmonious coexistence between people from all backgrounds. 

Our Mission


The IHOM-NSW’s missions according to its constitution are: 

  • To introduce Iranian music within wider Australian community;
  • To promote cultural integration of Iranian community within Australia - NSW by utilising music as a universal language which can be understood by all people of any cultural backgrounds;
  • To create opportunities for general public to enjoy cultural exchanges through music;
  • To provide support and collective representation for Iranian musicians in NSW, Australia, and act as their syndicate to protect their intellectual rights;
  • To add more depth and richness to Iranian musical events and activities;
  • To build informational and educational platforms for musicians and/or people who are interested in Iranian music; 
  • To build and enhance partnership with other associations with similar scope of activities across Australia and abroad; and
  • To build and maintain a network for collaboration of musicians of Iranian and non-Iranian backgrounds.
